Environment

Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2
Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional Service Pack 4
Novell GroupWise 7 Service Pack 1

Situation

When logging into a Novell GroupWise client 7 Service Pack 1 that you have been granted proxy right to a couple of users, when you go into the Multi-User List and select and deselect which proxies you want and then apply it you will see duplicate proxies on the Online drop down menu on the left hand side. This can be a problem with people who have access to a lot of user proxies.

Resolution

Issue has been resolved in GroupWise 8 which can be found at https://download.novell.com

Additional Information

Steps to duplicate:

1. Login to two different Groupise 7.0.1 clients and give Proxy access
rights from each client login to a same third user that you will login with later.
2. When logged in as the first user Go to Tools>Options>Security>Proxy Access Tab>Click on
the address book button and add a the third user to the access list and give them Read
and Write rights to Appointments, Reminder notes, and Tasks and click ok.
3. Login to another user and add the same third user you just did when logging into the last user.
4. Next, login with the third user that you just gave proxy rights to.
5. Go to Windows on the menu bar, then go to Calendar and on the drop down go to Multi-User.
6.Click on the Address book and click the two users you just logged in with before.
They will be placed on the selected side. Hit okay.
7. Deselect one of the users and hit apply and close out of the Multi User box.
8. On the left hand side click on the Online drop down menu and you will see duplicate users.

This bug doesn't effect people from accessing proxy users, but it does create a huge list of proxy users for those who need to proxy into a lot of email account.
