Situation
Unable to login to the
ZENworks Control Center (ZCC).
Error: "failed authentication (-669)"
located in the /var/opt/novell/zenworks/log/tomcat/base/catalina.out file.
Error: "session create failure, com.novell.zenworks.datamodel.InvalidPasswordException: The password supplied is not correct."
located in the /var/opt/novell/log/zenworks/prebootlookup.log.

Resolution
Workaround:
Fixed in ZLM Hot Patch 9 or later.
To obtain early access to a hot patch with the fix for this problem, send an email tozen.feedback@novell.comwith the subject of"ZLM7IR1 Hot Patch". An email reply will be sent with instructions on how to obtain the hot patch.
Verify the issue by comparing the 'keystorePass' value in the /etc/opt/novell/zenworks/tomcat/base/server.xml file with the value stored in the /etc/opt/novell/zenworks/serversecret file. (If they don't match move to step 2.) - Copy the value of the 'keystorePass' in the server.xml file to the serversecret file.
- Restart the ZLM services (/opt/novell/zenworks/bin/zlm-config --restart)
Fixed in ZLM Hot Patch 9 or later.

Cause:
Running zlm-config without the proper options or cancelling out using CTRL-C, would run the configuration and then overwrite the Serversecret file.
