Tomcat | N | Y | Tomcat is eDirectory integrated by default and can accept extended characters, but only on form-based logins. The inability to process anything but 7-bit ASCII is a known shortcoming of browser-based ("simple") authentication. Also, there has to be a matched encoding type between the browser and server. The default if not specified in a JSP page, is ISO-8895-1. Tomcat's admin applications specified UTF-8, perhaps erroneously. This will need to be fixed for a better customer experience. No problems were seen with Tomcat and the Universal Password. |
