Situation

When launching the ZENworks Endpoint Security Management Console you get a message pop up that indicates it is locked by another user and no open sessions can be found.

Resolution

Run the following SQL query (using SQL Query Analyzer) command (see screenshot) against the STMSDB database:

truncate table checkout

Additional Information

To run SQL Query Analyzer in SQL 2000 SP3-SP4:
  1. Open Enterprise Manager
  2. Go to Databases and highlight the STMSDB database by clicking on it
  3. Select - Tools - SQL Query Analyzer
  4. Enter in truncate table checkout
  5. Click on the green play button or hit F5
