Situation

Installing the ZENworks snapins to the local workstation fails.
Error log file xxxxxxxx_xxxxxx_ZDMServer_Install.log (on by default):

See below for details.

[Local Workstation]

Error log file ZENworks_Desktop_Management_InstallLog.log (see KB 3112868 Enable debug logging in ZDM 6.5 and 7)

Install File: c:\novell\ConsoleOne\1.2\bin\xxxxxxxx.dll

Status: ERROR
Additional Notes: ERROR - java.io.FileNotFoundException: c:\novell\ConsoleOne\1.2\bin\xxxxxxxx.dll (The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process)

Resolution

The workaround is to rename the files listed in the ZENworks_Desktop_Management_InstallLog.log on the local workstation and restart the local workstation snapin install.
For ZDM7: Fixed in ZENworks 7 with SP1 Desktop Management, available at
https://download.novell.com

For ZDM6.5 SP2: fixed in ZENworks 6.5 Desktop Management SP2 IR1 or newer found athttps://download.novell.com

Additional Information

The other process using the file is winlogon. This issue has been seen when ZSM is installed and ZDM snapins are being installed after.
