Environment

Novell ZENworks Server Management 6.5 - ZSM6.5 Tiered Electronic Distribution (TED)
Novell ZENworks Server Management 7 - ZSM7 Tiered Electronic Distribution (TED)

Situation

When you set the Distributed Server Package to email on certain events, such as Level 1 -- Errors, it sends too many messages and not all of them are errors.

Resolution

For ZSM7: Fixed in ZENworks 7 with SP1 Server Management, available at https://download.novell.com

For ZSM6.5 SP2: fixed in ZENworks 6.5 Server Management SP2 IR1a or newer found at https://download.novell.com/patch/finder

Additional Information

Setting the package to email on Level 1 -- errors should then only result in emails if there is a genuine error.
