Situation
Error in Event viewer:
Event ID 5016: Could not receive a returning probe
message. Please make sure both Microsoft ExchangeRouter for
Novell GroupWise service and GroupWise API Gateway are
running. Probe message checking continue...
Frequent ExchangeRouter errors - login problems -
showed in the Application Event Viewer.
Resolution
There was a user account used for logon to a server and to run
a GWEX gateway.
Then on the Exchange server, in a System manager,
corresponding gateway connector was configured with some other user
account in API UNC path definition.
Moreover, the GWEX was installed under a dedicated secondary
domain MTA that run on the Exchange server as a service with
another user account.
Once all services were reconfigured to use the same user
account, all services started without problems.
