Environment

Novell ZENworks Asset Management 7 - ZAM7

Situation

ZAM network discovery overwrites values in the ZAM DatabBase that have been edited by an administrator.
There are fields within Network discovery reports that can be edited by an administrator however, those manual changes will be blanked out on a subsequent Network discovery task.

Resolution

Fixed in patch ZENworks 7 Asset Management SP1 / Patch 6 found athttps://www.novell.com/support or newer.  As of this patch, the four fields, 1 - Name, 2- desc, 3- SysLocation, and 4 - Contact, are no longer editable as this was part of the original design.
