File modification timestamps on POSIX file systems won't update over NCP

Environment


Novell Open Enterprise Server (Linux based)
File storage accessed via NCP (e.g. through the Novell Client)

Situation

When modifying documents using Microsoft Word over NCP the modification timestamp of the file on POSIX file systems (e.g. ReiserFS) is not updated.

This does not happen on NSS volumes or with a different application (e.g. Microsoft Wordpad).

Resolution

Novell Technical Services is testing a patch to resolve this issue.
