Environment

Novell Nterprise Branch Office 2.0
Novell NetWare 6.5 Support Pack 3
Novell NetWare 6.5 Support Pack 4
Novell Open Enterprise Server (OES) Support Pack 1

Situation

A couple of changes were made in Branch Office 2.0.2 or NetWare 6.5 support pack 3 when a user's grace logins are used up or intruder lockout is reached, the user account on the branch office appliance will be deleted.  This is normally not a problem because after the grace logins remaining or intruder lock is cleared in the corporate tree and the user logs in again, the user will be re-provisioned (re-added) into the branch office tree.  The problem is that the home directory gets renamed and trustee assignments lost to the old home directory.  This requires an admin equivalent user to copy the files from the old/renamed home directory to the newly created home directory.

Symptoms:
User account gets deleted on Branch Office Appliance.
Home directory gets renamed when user account is deleted on Branch Office Appliance.
User account does not have trustee assignment to renamed home directory.

Changes:
Applied Netware 6.5 support pack 3 or 4

Resolution

Apply support pack 5 for netware 6.5.

With the application of support pack 5, the home directory will no longer be renamed when an account is deleted due to intruder lockout.  The home directory stays as it is and when the user is re-provisioned the user will get the proper trustee assignment to the existing home directory.
