Environment

Novell Audit 1.0.3 SNMP Channel
Novell Audit 2.0.0 SNMP Channel

Situation

Is there a MIB for Novell Audit?
My SNMP product needs a MIB to function properly.  Is there a MIB for Novell Audit?
Novell Audit sends SNMP traps with OID 2.16.840.1.113719.1.347.3.1 and a string as the payload.

Resolution

Currently there is not a MIB for the Novell Audit product.  There are no plans to create a MIB for Novell Audit.

Additional Information

SNMP gives you a specific trap for each event.  If you were going to develop a MIB for a printer, the "cover open" would have its own OID, as well as "toner low" would have its own OID, etc.  For each printer state, there would be a corresponding OID for that state.
Novell Audit simply has a single OID - 2.16.840.1.113719.1.347.3.1 - that it uses to send out all SNMP traps.  Novell Audit allows the network administrator the ability to configure what OID 2.16.840.1.113719.1.347.3.1 means by using various Novell Audit specific variables.  Because OID 2.16.840.1.113719.1.347.3.1 can mean almost anything, it is not possible to create a MIB that explains what each OID means because Novell Audit only sends out a single OID.
