Situation
Software usage can now be monitored and reported for
applications run through Windows Terminal Server 2000 and 2003.
These applications appear in existing application Usage reports.
You can view Terminal Server usage activity by user, by machine,
and by product. What you see depends on the context you use to view
the usage activity:
- When viewing usage by user, both locally-run and server application usage are tracked and attributed to the user.
- When viewing usage by machine, usage of applications run through the Terminal Server is attributed to the machine on which the Terminal Server is running.
- When viewing usage by product, total application usage is reported. Usage of applications run from a Terminal Server, as well as usage of applications run from the local machine are included in reported application usage.
