Situation
Symptoms
The backout
will fail looking for msgvar.rcf
Error:
SYS:\SYSTEM\BACKSP5\msgvar.rcf
The BACKOUT.IPS
file for NetWare 6.5 Support Pack 5 assumes a backup path of
SYS:\SYSTEM\BACKSP5 even if the backup path was changed to another
location during the support pack installation.

Workaround
Steps
Edit
the BACKOUT.IPS file created in the BACKSP5 directory where
the support pack was backed up and modify the line that
reads:
GetPathbackupPath, 1,'%{SystemDir}\\BACKSP5' ,''
Change the
%{SystemDir} to the path where the BACKSP5 directory is
located.
So, for
example if the files were backed up to VOL1 the modified
line would be:
GetPathbackupPath, 1,'VOL1:\\BACKSP5' ,''
