How to restart the graphical portion of the NetWare install

Novell NetWare 6.5

Novell NetWare 5.1

Situation

The Graphical stage of the install fails
The NetWare GUI fails to load during the install
Graphical part of NetWare install hangs

Resolution

Switch to the console (ALT-ESC) and restart the graphical stage by typing the following:
  1. JAVA -exit
  2. NWI -ABORT
  3. NISETSI
  4. NISETSI2
  5. NWISTART

Additional Information

There may be other problems preventing the install from working correctly, such as bad hardware or a CD burnt too fast.  If simply restarting doesn't help, check the logger screen for more information and search on the errors you find there.
