Environment

Novell ZENworks Linux Management Linux Management 7 - ZLM7

Situation

Any time a file is uploaded to the system, there is the possibility for various error conditions that the system it not fully setup to work with the file, and the file becomes "orphaned" with no way to clean it up.  This has to do with the file upload control and the systems that use it (currently for rpms, in the future for other bundle management, uploaded images, etc.).

RESULTS:
Orphaned files can eat up a lot of disk space rather quickly.

Resolution

Added a common task on the tools tab that launches a dialog to clear the rpm
files in the pkg-repo/tmp directory.

Additional Information

Workaround is to delete old files from the tmp directory manually.
