Distributor hangs when unable to determine channel expiration

Environment

Novell ZENworks Server Management 6.5 - ZSM6.5 Tiered Electronic Distribution (TED)
Novell ZENworks Server Management 7 - ZSM7 Tiered Electronic Distribution (TED)


Situation

When the channel schedule was met the distributions were fired off but never completed.
The distributor appears to hang and needs to be restarted.
No more event information is getting updated in iManager.
Error: Unable to determine the channel expiration time.

Resolution

The channel schedule was straddling midnight. As a workaround, change the schedule to end before 12:00 pm.
