Environment

Novell ZENworks for Desktops 3.0
Novell Application Launcher (NAL) 3.1

Situation

Setting "Allow users to exit =no" and "Save window size and position=yes" in the Launcher Configuration settings in ZENworks for Desktops 3 doesn't save the window size or position.
If ZFD3SP1.EXE is installed, and the user is allowed to exit NAL, the window size and position will be saved on the workstation if the user first exits NAL before rebooting the workstation. If the user reboots without exiting NAL, the window size and position will not be saved.
If the user shuts down the workstation, the window size and position is not saved.

Resolution

This issue will be fixed in a post ZENworks for Desktops 3 (ZFD3) version of ZENworks for Desktops. WORKAROUND: Have the user exit NAL after resizing the NAL window and before shutting down the workstation. If the user is not allowed to exit NAL, the window size and position will not be saved.

Additional Information

The registry key that sets the NAL window size and position doesn't get updated until NAL is exited. The positions are stored under
HKCU\Software\NetWare\NAL\1.0\in DWORD values X, Y and W, being the X co-ordinate, Y co-ordinate, and Width respectively.
These represent, in pixels, the distance of the left-edge of the window from the left-edge of the display, the distance of the top edge of the window from the top of the display, and the width of the window.
