Customer was using a database application made with MS Access and placing the database on a NW411 server. If the workstations were accessing the database from a Win95 workstation using Novell client32, the workstations would slow down and stop working. If the customer used the MS client for Netware Networks, the same symptom would occur. If the customer placed the database file on an NT server or a Win95 machine the workstations worked correctly and did not slow down.

The problem happens when using one of the older version of the Novell clients for Win95, versions 2.10, 2.11, 2.5.

Testing showed that when using the MS client for netware networks, regardless of server backend (NT, Win95, or Novell) the files were released properly. If all workstations were using the 3X versions of the clients to access the database, files are released properly.

Use the Novell client for Win95 Win98 versions 3.02 and 3.01 on ALL workstations accessing the database.
