Fact

Novell ZENworks 6.5 Desktop Management - ZfD6.5

Novell ZENworks Desktop Management

Symptom

App association is broken when there is an invalid wsgroups entry in the registry.

Association between workstation and group is broken, if in the registry key HKLM\Software\Novell\ZENworks\ZENWSREG\WSGROUPS an non existing group is entered

Fix

Fixed in ZENworks 6.5 SP2

Note

Steps to reproduce:

1. create a WSGROUPS key in the registry HKLM\Software\Novell\ZENworks\ZENWSREGWSGROUPS = gpr_apps.workstations.cpl,second.workstation.cpl
2. make sure that the first group exits in eDirectory (gpr_apps.workstations.cpl)
3.if the workstation was already imported, delete the woks object from eDirectory and unregister the workstation
4.now register the workstation with zwsreg

Result:

The workstation object is imported, but there is one issue. When checking in ConsoleOne the group object gpr_apps.workstations.cpl, the just imported workstation is member of it, that is fine, when checking on the workstation object, under the tab Members there workstation is missing, the association link is broken between the group object and workstation object.
