What is PSA.NSS?

PSA (Posix Semantic Agent) is used to speed up (2x -3x times)  performance on Apache.   It is loaded as part of Apache unless iFolder is installed.  It holds open or caches some of Apache files which is why you see more open files on the server.  You may unload it if you don't mind losing some performance on Apache.

Note: If using PSA you WILL see more open files on the server, even so, the server itself will not take a performance hit.  The files open can be seen in either NetWare Remote Manager or through Monitor.

The maximum instances of any one file being open using PSA is 10000 instances of the file.Once the 10000 threshold has been reached, for that file, PSA will begin cycling through with the 1st instance of the file, then 2nd, and so on.
