Workaround: Prior to installing Middle Tier change the default Website Location to the default c:\inetpub\wwwroot location.

To do this, try the following steps:

1.      If you don’t have a folder for c:\inetpub\wwwroot, create one.
2.      Go to Start | Settings | Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Services. Right click on IIS admin Service and choose Stop. It’ll prompt you to stop other services. Choose yes.
3.      Go to Start | Settings | Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Internet Services Manager. Right click on Default Web Site. Choose Properties. Go to the “Home Directory” tab and note the current home directory location.
4.      Copy all of the files from this current home directory location to c:\inetpub\wwwroot
5.      Change the current home directory to c:\inetpub\wwwroot.
6.      Go to Start | Settings | Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Services. Right click on IIS admin Service and choose Start.
