Symptom

Fix

Middle Tier servers running on Microsoft Windows at Headquarters or Regional type offices that are responsible for authenticating a large number of users (200+) should increase the following settings as a "Best Practice":

TCP/IP Settings:
MaxUserPort = 10,000 on all servers running Middle Tier servers. (see http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;196271 for more details).
TcpTimedWaitDelay = 30 on all dedicated Middle Tier, dedicated eDir and combined Middle Tier / eDir servers. (see http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;314053 for more details).

Note

These TCP/IP settings are also applicable to the "backend" management server.

After applying these TCP/IP settings, the server(s) on which the settings have been applied need to be rebooted.
