Fact

NDS eDirectory 8.5 for UNIX/Linux

NDS eDirectory 8.5.1 for UNIX/Linux

Symptom

Objects with two primary obituaries are not purged.

Obituaries causing -637.

Obituaries are not processing.

The tree has one partition that has servers that tend to be down frequently.

Change

Users are renaming the object using LDAP.  Then they use ConsoleOne to delete it, instead of waiting for the rename to complete. This promotes objects having two primary obits- MOVED and DEAD. Both obituaries are in a 0004 purgable state, but are not purged. If the DEAD obituary is removed and the flat cleaner started, then the object is purged.

Cause

Objects have two primary obits in a purgable state.

Fix

Fixed with DS version 85.19 or later.
