NDPS troubleshooting utility

Fact

Formerly KB 2951836

Novell NetWare 5.0

Novell Distributed Print Services (NDPS) 2.0

NEPS 2.1

Symptom

NDPS causing high utilization on the server

Fix

Use these commands when NDPS troubleshooting steps have been exhausted.

Create the debug log on the server with the following commands:

NDPSM
NDPS MANAGER DEBUG DISPLAY = ON
NDPS MANAGER DEBUG DISPLAY = +CLIENT +GATEWAY +NDS +SECURITY +LOA +FILE

Next, do whatever produces the error. Then type:

NDPS MANAGER DEBUG DISPLAY = OFF

A file called NDPSM.LOG will be created in SYS:\SYSTEM. Search this log for DS errors that may explain the reason for the errors. If the errors cannot be resolved, open a support incident with Novell Technical Support to analyze the file.
