User wants to hide or blank the username field in the NetWare login dialog box.

User name is hidden when NetWare login dialog box comes up.

For security or other reasons, it may be desired to blank the username field when the NetWare login dialog appears upon booting a workstation. There is a registry setting for both Windows 95 and Windows NT which will enable this functionality.

Windows 95:

Go to the registry to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Winlogon.
Add a new String Value called: "DontDisplayLastUserName" and set the Data value to "1." A data value of 1 will hide the field, 0 will show the field.

Note: this works on initial login only. When executing a subsequent login, this setting is ignored.

Windows NT:

Go to the registry to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
Add a new String Value called: "Name:DontDisplayLastUserName" of type: REG_SZ and data value of 1. A data value of 0 will show the name field.
